SWC 2008 President's Update

The ice is starting to break up and we are starting to get fired up for this years season, a few have already had their first sessions. I am sure we all have lots of new stories from the winter adventures. I had a great time catching up with some of you at the Spring Social a few weeks ago in Regina. Thanks to everyone who came out.

A few words from the executive committee. Some of you may be awaiting your spring edition of Wind Addiction, well it may not arrive but with good reason. We are currently updating and revolutionizing the SWC webpage (www.saskwindsurf.com). Once complete it will be the forum to communicate, share pictures, chat about conditions, discuss gear, and BS about the size of the wave and the nuken winds. The new site will also have a classified section to swap gear. Because of the website upgrades we have not planned a gear swap this year. If we have unseen delays in the launch of the new site we will make sure everyone stays informed. A membership form is attached, be sure to sign up and be eligible for the early bird draw to be made at Wind and Water. Many of our sponsors are providing our club with great support again this year! Also We have ordered hats and toques with the club logo in a variety of colors and styles, so save a few bucks to help keep the sun off your head and promote the club. They will be available by Wind and Water.

Make sure you get your boards out of the shed, make sure your trailer tires have air, and stock up on ping pong balls because the Gnarly Man is just around the corner. Once again Mark and Bev Chandler are so graciously hosting the SWC kick off sailing event at their prime spot on Long Lake. Things start happening on Friday May 16 and will be going all weekend long.
